Hyatt Privé: Complete Guide (2026 Updated)
Park Hyatt Milan, part of Hyatt Prive - Little bit of luxe

Hyatt Privé is one of the best-kept secrets in luxury travel. It's a preferred partner program that gives you a set of guaranteed benefits — daily breakfast, a hotel credit, a room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out — simply by booking through an authorised travel agent at the standard flexible rate. No special status required. No extra cost to you.

I've personally used Hyatt Privé for stays at the Andaz Bali, Grand Hyatt Bali and Hyatt Regency Bali, and it's consistently delivered exactly what it promises. The upgrade is confirmed shortly after booking. A welcome letter at check-in lays out every benefit. The breakfast is always a full breakfast — not a voucher, not a continental spread.

This guide covers everything: the participating brands, the full benefit breakdown (including some nuances most guides miss), how it works with your World of Hyatt status, and how to book.

What is Hyatt Privé?

Hyatt Privé is a special rate program available at select Hyatt premium and luxury hotels worldwide. It can only be booked through an authorised Hyatt Privé travel agent, and the rate is based on Hyatt's standard flexible (best flexible) rate — so it cannot be combined with member rates, AAA rates, or other promotional rates.

In exchange, you receive a stack of confirmed benefits that go well beyond what most loyalty statuses deliver: guaranteed full breakfast for two, a hotel credit, a room upgrade, and flexible check-in/check-out times.

Not every hotel within each participating brand takes part — but the program spans hundreds of properties across Hyatt's portfolio, from Park Hyatt and Andaz to Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and the all-inclusive brands.

Which Brands Participate in Hyatt Privé?

The program has expanded significantly and now covers brands across Hyatt's entire premium and luxury portfolio, including several all-inclusive brands. Note that not every individual hotel within these brands participates — always check the hotel list or confirm with your agent.

Hyatt Privé Benefits: What Do You Actually Get?

This is where Hyatt Privé earns its reputation. Here's the full breakdown of what's included — along with the real-world nuances that most guides gloss over.

Daily Breakfast for Two

This is the headline benefit. At every participating property, Hyatt Privé includes a complimentary full breakfast for two people per bedroom, served at the hotel restaurant. Not a continental buffet option, not a voucher with a spending cap — a full breakfast.

For families or groups with children, the children's breakfast policy varies by property, so it's worth confirming at the time of booking.

If you're a World of Hyatt Globalist, you'll receive whichever breakfast option is better: your Globalist breakfast (which covers 2 adults and 2 children at most properties) or the Privé breakfast. In practice, the benefits overlap so both are covered.

Hotel Credit

Every Privé booking includes a hotel credit for incidentals, valid once per stay. The amount varies by property:

  • Luxury tier (Park Hyatt, Andaz, Alila, Thompson): typically US$100
  • Premium tier (Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric): typically US$50
  • All-inclusive brands (Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Secrets, Dreams): can exceed US$100 at some properties
  • Some hotels do not offer a credit at all

The hotel determines where the credit can be applied — most commonly towards dining, spa, or resort activities. Confirm the specifics with your agent when booking.

Room Upgrade

One of the most valuable — and most misunderstood — benefits. Your room upgrade is confirmed shortly after your booking is made, based on forecasted occupancy at that time. You don't have to wait until check-in hoping something is available.

What's eligible for the upgrade: the next category of room above what you booked, subject to availability.

What's excluded: upgrades from a standard room to a suite, from a standard room to a Club/Executive level room, and all premium suite categories.

In practice, this means if you book a Deluxe room, you may be upgraded to a Superior Deluxe or a room with a better view — but don't expect a suite upgrade through Privé alone. That said, getting your upgrade confirmed days or weeks in advance, rather than at check-in, is a genuine advantage.

Early Check-In & Late Check-Out

  • Early check-in: from as early as 9am, subject to availability, confirmed in advance. Of the two, early check-in is the harder one to get confirmed ahead of arrival — it's more dependent on occupancy the night before. It's always worth requesting but manage expectations accordingly.
  • Late check-out: until as late as 4pm, subject to availability, typically confirmed in advance. This one is more reliably confirmed, and 4pm check-out is a significant luxury at resort properties where you want to make the most of the pool or beach on your last day.

Welcome Amenity

At check-in, you'll receive a welcome amenity — typically a fruit plate, pastries, or a bottle of wine — along with a personalised welcome letter outlining all of your Privé benefits for the stay. The letter is a small but meaningful touch: it means you always know exactly what you're entitled to, and it makes it easy to flag if something hasn't been arranged.

Connecting Rooms for Families & Groups

A less well-known benefit: for families or groups requiring connecting rooms, Hyatt Privé allows your agent to request connecting room assignments in advance, confirmed subject to availability. This is particularly useful at resort properties where connecting rooms book out quickly, and it removes the uncertainty of turning up and hoping the front desk can accommodate you.

Your World of Hyatt Points, Status Nights & Benefits

Hyatt Privé rates earn World of Hyatt points and qualifying nights exactly as a standard flexible rate would. All of your existing World of Hyatt member benefits apply alongside the Privé benefits — and where benefits overlap (such as breakfast), you receive whichever is the better of the two.

Privé rates are also eligible for any active World of Hyatt promotions running at the time of your stay, such as double points or bonus status nights.

One note for Globalist members: a common question is whether the resort fee is waived on a Privé rate. The answer is yes — Globalist status still waives resort fees on Privé rates, just as it would on any qualifying rate.

Is Hyatt Privé Worth It?

The rate is based on Hyatt's standard flexible rate — the same rack rate you'd find on Hyatt.com without any member or promotional discount. So the relevant question isn't whether it's expensive, but whether the benefits justify the difference compared to, say, a non-flexible or advance purchase rate.

For most stays of two nights or more at a mid-to-upper tier property, the maths work clearly in your favour:

  • Full breakfast for two at a Park Hyatt or Grand Hyatt regularly runs $60–120 per person. Over a three-night stay for two people, that's $360–720 worth of breakfast alone.
  • A $100 hotel credit on top of that, plus an advance-confirmed room upgrade and late check-out, and you're consistently ahead.

Privé is particularly compelling if you're a Discoverist or Explorist member — statuses where complimentary breakfast isn't part of your standard benefits. You're effectively accessing a Globalist-adjacent breakfast experience on any status tier.

For Globalist members the calculus is slightly different since you already receive breakfast, but the hotel credit, advance upgrade confirmation, and 4pm checkout still add meaningful value — especially at resort properties.

Current Hyatt Privé Promotions

Hyatt Privé periodically runs promotions that offer enhanced benefits — including Privé benefits applied to World of Hyatt member rates, guaranteed suite upgrades, elevated hotel credits, and complimentary extra nights. These change throughout the year.

My Personal Experience with Hyatt Privé

I've booked Hyatt Privé stays at three Bali properties — the Andaz Bali, Grand Hyatt Bali, and Hyatt Regency Bali — and the experience has been consistent across all three.

The upgrade is always the first thing to arrive: within a few days of booking, you receive confirmation of your room category. At the Andaz Bali, this came through within 48 hours. At the Grand Hyatt Bali, we had our room confirmed even faster.

At check-in, the welcome letter is waiting. It lists each benefit explicitly — room type confirmed, breakfast venue, credit amount and where it applies, checkout time. It removes any ambiguity and makes it easy to flag anything that needs attention before you've unpacked.

The breakfast at all three properties was a full restaurant breakfast, ordered from the menu. No vouchers, no limitations. At the Hyatt Regency Bali, this is served at the main restaurant overlooking the ocean — a genuinely excellent start to the day.

How to Book a Hyatt Privé Rate

Hyatt Privé rates are exclusively available through authorised Hyatt Privé travel agents. You cannot book them directly through Hyatt.com or by calling the hotel.

Our official booking partner is QX Travel. They are a Hyatt Privé authorised agent and our recommended partner for Privé bookings. There is no additional cost to you for using their service — the rate is the same as booking the flexible rate directly.

QX Travel offers two booking options:

  • Online booking tool: for straightforward requests, you can browse and book directly through their Hyatt Privé page
  • Quote request form: for more complex requests — multi-room stays, connecting rooms, specific promotions, or large groups — use the form on the individual hotel page

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I earn World of Hyatt points on a Privé rate?
Yes. Hyatt Privé rates earn points and qualifying nights at the same rate as any standard flexible booking.

Do Privé stays count towards World of Hyatt status?
Yes. Qualifying nights earned on Privé rates count towards Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist status thresholds, and are eligible for any active double-night or bonus point promotions.

Is there an additional cost for booking through a Privé agent?
No. The Privé rate is based on Hyatt's standard flexible rate. Using an authorised agent costs you nothing extra.

Can I combine a Privé rate with a member discount or promotional rate?
No. Privé rates cannot be stacked with member rates, AAA rates, advance purchase rates, or other Hyatt promotions. However, during select promotional periods, Hyatt does offer Privé benefits on World of Hyatt rates — see the promotions section above.

I'm a Globalist — is Hyatt Privé still worth it?
Yes, particularly at resort properties. The hotel credit and potential 4pm late check-out are valuable additions, and the advance-confirmed upgrade (rather than at check-in) is a meaningful practical benefit. The resort fee waiver also applies on Privé rates for Globalists.

How quickly is the upgrade confirmed?
Typically within a few days to a week of booking, based on forecasted occupancy. It is not guaranteed on the day you book, and it excludes room-to-suite, room-to-Club, and premium suite upgrades.

Can Hyatt Privé be booked for families needing connecting rooms?
Yes. Connecting room requests can be submitted at the time of booking and are confirmed in advance, subject to availability.

Can I book Hyatt Privé for just one night at a Grand Hyatt or Hyatt Regency?
No. Properties in the 2-night minimum category require a minimum two-night stay to access Privé benefits. For Park Hyatt, Andaz, Thompson, and Miraval, there is no minimum stay requirement.

What if my hotel doesn't offer a credit?
Not all properties include a hotel credit as part of their Privé setup — some hotels, particularly in certain markets, opt not to offer one. Your agent will confirm the credit amount (if any) at the time of booking.
